MDFN

Summary:

This randomized controlled trial (RCT) aims to determine the optimal treatment for minimally displaced femoral neck fractures (FNFs), a common injury among the elderly. Currently, internal fixation is the preferred treatment due to its minimally invasive nature, despite its association with high complication rates. Arthroplasty has shown promising preliminary data suggesting improved patient outcomes, such as enhanced ambulation, fewer reoperations, and reduced mortality compared to internal fixation. This RCT seeks to provide definitive guidance on the most effective treatment approach for minimally displaced FNFs.
